Supporting Your Spiritual and Cultural Journey at BCCUK
The Buddhist Community Centre UK (BCCUK) is more than a place of worship — it is a peaceful and inclusive space where people from all backgrounds come together to cultivate mindfulness, deepen their understanding of the Buddha’s teachings, and celebrate community life.
Our wide range of services reflects our mission to provide spiritual support, preserve Buddhist cultural traditions, and foster social harmony. Whether you’re beginning your journey or continuing a lifelong practice, BCCUK is here to guide, support, and walk with you on the path.
Meditation Sessions
Meditation is at the heart of Buddhist practice. At BCCUK, we offer regular guided and silent meditation sessions led by experienced practitioners and resident monks. Open to all levels, these sessions help develop mindfulness, reduce stress, and cultivate inner peace. Visitors are welcome to join us in the shrine hall during designated practice times throughout the week.
Dhamma Teachings & Study Groups
BCCUK is committed to spreading the timeless wisdom of the Buddha’s teachings (Dhamma). Our Dhamma programs include weekly talks, scriptural study, Q&A sessions, and guest teachings from visiting Rinpoches and respected teachers from the Mahāyāna and Vajrayāna traditions. All teachings are grounded in compassion, non-violence, and the Noble Eightfold Path — offering guidance for both daily life and long-term spiritual growth.
Pujas & Ceremonial Services
Our centre holds regular pujas (prayer and offering rituals) in accordance with Tibetan Buddhist tradition. These include Medicine Buddha Puja, Guru Rinpoche Day, Mahakala Puja, and special ceremonies on auspicious lunar days. These rituals are performed for blessings, purification, healing, and the well-being of all sentient beings.
We also offer personal pujas upon request — for health, success, protection, or spiritual support for loved ones.
Marriage & Family Ceremonies
At BCCUK, we honour life’s most sacred moments. We provide Buddhist wedding blessings, naming ceremonies for newborns, and family-oriented rituals conducted with traditional prayers, offerings, and community support. These ceremonies are held in our peaceful temple environment and can be adapted to reflect each family’s cultural and spiritual background.
Cultural Festivals & Community Events
BCCUK actively celebrates major Buddhist and Himalayan cultural festivals such as Buddha Jayanti, Lhosar, Tamu Lhochhar, Teej, and others. These events are not only spiritual occasions but vibrant community gatherings filled with devotion, music, food, and cultural performance. Everyone is welcome to attend and take part.
Youth & Educational Outreach
We believe in nurturing wisdom and compassion from a young age. BCCUK welcomes school visits, youth groups, and interfaith educational programs to introduce children and young adults to Buddhist values, meditation, and mindful living. Our outreach helps build bridges across cultures and generations, promoting peace and understanding.
Community Support & Volunteering
As a registered charity, BCCUK is powered by the dedication of volunteers and the generosity of our supporters. We offer opportunities for volunteering in the temple, event support, language translation, hospitality, and more. We are also involved in local and international humanitarian work, including disaster relief efforts, food donation drives, and mental wellness initiatives.
Funeral & Memorial Services
In times of grief and transition, BCCUK offers comforting funeral services and memorial prayers rooted in Buddhist compassion and understanding of impermanence. Our monks provide spiritual guidance and perform appropriate rituals to honour the deceased and support their loved ones with prayers and compassion.
Everyone Is Welcome
True to the Buddha’s teachings, BCCUK is open to all — regardless of race, religion, background, or beliefs. Whether you come to sit in silence, seek guidance, take part in a ceremony, or serve others — there is a place for you here.
“Come and see. Practice and experience. Serve and grow.”
