Who we are.

The Buddhist Community Centre UK (BCCUK) is a registered charitable organisation based in Aldershot, Hampshire. Founded in 2007, BCCUK serves as a spiritual and cultural hub for the Buddhist community across the UK, particularly in Southeast England. Our mission is to preserve and promote Buddhist teachings, foster inner peace, and serve society through compassion, mindfulness, and community engagement.

Our Journey

BCCUK began with a bold and compassionate vision: to establish a monastery and community centre that could bring people together through Buddhist values of peace, wisdom, and service. Through the dedication of volunteers and community support, we acquired and transformed a former social club into a serene and spiritual space.

  • In 2014, the Centre was consecrated by His Holiness Dilgo Khyentse Yangsi Rinpoche.
  • In 2015, it was officially inaugurated by His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, who praised the initiative and blessed the growing community.

At BCCUK, our mission is to promote the timeless teachings of the Buddha while cultivating a space of peace, reflection, and belonging for all. We strive to:
